Aggreko sets records but keeps to forecasts

Despite record orders at its international power division and rental boosts from the Vancouver Winter Olympics and FIFA World Cup in South Africa, generators and air-cons supplier Aggreko today said its first-quarter trading was in line with forecasts.

International power projects revenues rose 8% in the last three months while local revenues rose a similar amount thanks only to the two big sports events. If they are excluded, local revenues fell by 9%.

Aggreko is to spend an extra £20 million on mobile generators this year, taking the total to £220 million. But these will not start earning until the second half.
