London headquartered technology investment firm Atomico has invested $24 million (£18.6 million) in start-up Framer.

Founded in 2006 by Niklas Zennstrom, who co-founded Skype, Atomico has invested in more than fifty companies including Rovio Mobile.

Framer is an Amsterdam-based start-up which supplies design software to anyone who wants to make apps for smartphones, PCs and TVs.

Uber built its taxi app using Framer, while Airbnb, Snap, Facebook Google and Microsoft are also customers.

The company, founded in 2013, now claims to have 'several tens of thousands of users per month', accounting for an annual turnover of 'more than one million dollars'.

This latest investment brings total funds raised to date to $33 million, with previous investors Accel London and AngelList also participating in the round.

Framer plans to use the funds to more than triple its team by adding product development, engineering, sales and and on-the-ground support staff in North America, Europe, and Asia.

Latest Atomico investments include Starkware in Israel and London’s Fat Lama. Last year it invested $60 million in SMS giant Messagebird and previously supported fashion e-commerce payments unicorn Klarna.
