Be At One on Thursday said it is expecting a New Year sales boost as health-conscious workers in London turn to “virtuous” alcoholic drinks, featuring kale and spinach with vodka.

The cocktail chain’s co-founder Rhys Oldfield said the firm, which has 17 London branches, revamped its menu earlier this year to include a number of drinks that feature more fruit and vegetables.

“We think Londoners who want to be healthy but can’t quite stick to a dry January, will be spending their cash on healthier-style cocktails with ingredients including beetroot and kale,” Oldfield said.

He was speaking as the firm revealed a 32% surge in sales to £29.8 million in the year to March 27.

The best-selling drink during the period was its £9.50 Pornstar Martini.

Pre-tax profit rose to £1.2 million from around £800,000, and the company wants to open two more London venues next year.

Its sites include King’s Cross, Monument and Shoreditch.
