City dealmaker Silver joins PZ Cussons board

12 February 2014

Soap and shampoo maker PZ Cussons today appointed the leading City dealmaker Caroline Silver as a non-executive director.

Silver, a partner at investment bank Moelis, is one of the highest-profile women in the square mile and helped to sell the London Metal Exchange to the Chinese for a hefty £1.4 billion.

Her CV also includes stints at Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch.

Richard Harvey, chairman of PZ Cussons, said: “During her highly successful career, she has been involved in many of the most high-profile and complex deals. Her personal interest in Africa also makes her a great fit for the company.”

Silver’s appointment is by no means unprecedented with another leading female investment banker, Gillian Sheldon of Credit Suisse, joining the board of outsourcing giant Capita in 2012, where she is now senior independent director.

The news came as doorstep lender, International Personal Finance, appointed former Aviva executive Cathryn Riley as a non-executive director. IPF offers loans to customers in developing markets such as Poland and Mexico.
