The company behind top TV and film properties as diverse as Peppa Pig and the Twilight series has hiked the value of its library to over £400 million.

Entertainment One said an independent valuation has boosted the catalogue from $385 million (£240 million) in March 2012 to $650 million.

The Anglo-Canadian company, which joined the FTSE 250 index on Monday, has been bullish about its prospects as new online TV and film-streaming services such as NetFlix and LoveFilm licence its library of shows and push up the value of its rights.

Entertainment One said sales and profits before exceptionals for the six months to September should be “significantly higher”.

Digital revenues in its film division have more than doubled against a year ago.

The group singled out the forthcoming release of Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the latest movie spin-off of the hit teen novels, as a likely big hit.
