Rakesh Kapoor, chief executive of consumer goods giant Reckitt Benckiser, is set to collect £6.3 million in pay and share bonuses for last year.

That is much higher than the £736,000 he earned in the four months he was chief executive in 2011 but the total package is much less than his predecessor Bart Becht took home £92 million in a single year. Kapoor will also get long-term shares and options, currently worth £12 million, in three years.

Iberia CEO quits in wake of Walsh deal

The chief executive of Iberia today resigned, weeks after the airline’s parent company boss Willie Walsh stamped his authority on the Spanish airline to end months of strikes.

Rafael Sanchez-Lozano and International Airlines Group said they had decided mutually that he would quit. Walsh struck a deal with unions that will help IAG turn around a €1 billion loss last year, axing jobs and cutting pay.

The beer trade is in strife but Suffolk brewer Adnams showed again today that it is possible to make money from ale.

In 2012, it made a profit of £3.4 million, a little better than a year earlier, on sales of £57 million, a rise of 4.3%. Chairman Jonathan Adnams said: “The markets that Adnams operates in have been challenging and this hasn’t been helped by external factors such as Government policy or indeed the poor British weather.”
