Rugby ace-turned-financier Greg Knight goes bankrupt

Greg Knight, the former London Scottish rugby ace-turned-financial services tycoon famed for his links to celebrities such as Gabby and Kenny Logan, has been declared bankrupt.

Knight, whose Welbeck Wealth Management firm in the City collapsed into administration last year, was well-known in Scottish business circles in the capital.

He was one of the management team at the famous London Scottish rugby club who nursed it back to financial health after it collapsed in 1999, bringing in new sponsors including Welbeck.

However, Welbeck fell on hard times and went into administration in spring last year and now he has been made bankrupt.

He will be discharged on 1 July next year.

Although Welbeck collapsed, until last month Knight remained a director of Klas International, a City firm which advises sportsmen and military personnel on getting jobs in the corporate world.

As with London Scottish, he was a director of Klas alongside Kenny Logan.

Knight also quit London Scottish last year, followed months later by Logan. Knight did not return calls.
