Stelios wants Rake out from easyJet

Easyjet’s founder and biggest shareholder Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou today filed papers to organise an extraordinary general meeting of the budget airline to put Sir Mike Rake’s removal as chairman up for vote.

In the wake of the Libor-fixing scandal, Sir Mike was promoted to Barclays’ deputy chairman. He is also chairman of BT. Sir Stelios said: “Everyone can see Mike Rake’s deep conflicts of interest and entrenched positions in the disgraced ‘City establishment’.”
