EasyJet finds going tough in summer

The recession in the air is continuing into the summer holiday season. Budget airline easyJet, which not long ago was expanding at more than 10% a year, today said it carried 4.1 million passengers last month, an increase of less than 1% over June 2008.

The carrier said on an annualised basis it has carried 44.5 million passengers, 7.9% more than in the previous 12 months.
