When was Google founded?
Google started its humble beginnings at Stanford University in 1995, where co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin first met.
They built a search engine that used links to determine the importance of individual pages on the World Wide Web.
Weirdly, it was first named 'Backrub' before it was changed for Google, which leaves you to wonder what people would've said instead of 'Google it' if the former had stuck.
Three years later, Sun co-founder Andy Bechtolsheim wrote Page and Brin a check for $100,000, and Google Inc. was officially born.
Where did the 'Google doodle' come from?
Like most of Google's history, the story of the Google doodle is a quirky one.
Back when Google was first being implemented, Page and Brin would place a stickman behind the Google logo when they attended art festival Burning Man, to indicate they were out of office.
Then, they asked an intern to produce a doodle for Bastille Day. It was so well received that the intern became chief doodler (an actual job title) and the rest, as they say, is history.
How did Google get its name?
In typical nerd like fashion, 'Google' is a play on the word 'Googol,' a mathematical term for a 1 followed by 100 zeros.
The name was fitting for Page and Brin's goal of creating a search engine that was able to hold large quantities of information.
How much is Google worth?
Currently, Google is worth $110.8 (£84.1) billion.
It's parent company, Alphabet, which looks after a host of other products, is valued at a whopping $851.2 (£645.9) billion
How much do we know about Google's founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin?
They say opposites attract and the same could be said for Brin and Page.
Whilst Page is known for keeping to himself, Brin is the more eccentric of the pair.
Page famously got rid of all his assistants so anyone that wanted to talk to him would have to physically track him down.
Meanwhile, Brin allegedly gave interviews dressed as a cow and regularly walks around on his hands for fun.
Brin married Anne Wojcicki - CEO of genetics company 23andMe and sister of early Google employee Susan Wojcicki — in 2007 and the couple have two children together.
In their current positions, Brin is president of Alphabet and Page is CEO, worth $57.7 billion and $56.2 billion retrospectively.

Google is no longer just a search engine, with a frankly astonishing range of products including Android, YouTube, Google docs, the Pixel Phone, AdWords, sheets, slides...the list goes on.
