Wealthy win for Westminster

11 April 2012

Security and defence group Westminster has won a £540,000-a-year contract to protect a wealthy Middle Easterner.

The new contract provides 24-hour security at home and on extensive trips abroad for the man and his family from male and female "close protection operatives" supplied by Westminster's recent acquisition Longmoor.

Westminster paid £2.4 million for London-based Longmoor, which is chaired by former Tory minister Sir John Wheeler who headed the post 9/11 UK inquiry into airport security.

Longmoor recently provided security for VIPs and celebrities at the Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow.
