Sadiq Khan today hailed the “remarkable” progress of the vaccine rollout in London, but promised to do all he could to increase take-up even further in the build-up to July 19.

Khan told the Standard: “We are throwing the kitchen sink, kitchen appliances and myself at this. We want to make sure we get as much coverage as we can.”

Mass vaccination events, many for walk-ins, are currently being planned at the Tate Modern, Crystal Palace, the Oval cricket ground and Millwall’s The Den stadium.

But some have admitted to confusion over how long people are now expected to wait between the first and second doses of the vaccine, with guidance seeming to vary from 3-8 weeks.

“Trishacquier1” and “Carolmartinsperry” both agreed that the information was an invaluable resource. Carol said “we need that information,” while Trish added “people should be wary!”
