The British Library is set to archive BBC Radio 4’s listeners’ experiences of the coronavirus pandemic.

Covid Chronicles, which was launched by the PM programme last month, saw presenter Evan Davis ask the public to write into the programme with their accounts of life during the pandemic.

Their responses will be permanently stored in the British Library “to document the national experience”, the BBC said.

Hundreds wrote to the programme with their personal accounts of what living through the lockdown has been like for them.

People who sent in their testimonies included a woman preparing to give birth during the pandemic and a Jewish family getting ready for Passover.

A woman’s reflections on her mother’s funeral were also sent to the broadcaster.
