Being different isn't enough for Riding Hood tale

Working backwards: Red Riding Hood

The voices of Anne Hathaway, Glenn Close and Jim Belushi help along this CGI-animated variant of the tale of Little Red Riding Hood.

But its attempts to be different, both visually and in its narrative style, come a bit of a cropper.

It is difficult to tell what's going on at times as we're told what happens from the point of view of each of the main characters, starting at the end of the tale and winding its way to the beginning, like Kurosawa's Rashomon.

There are certainly funny and inventive moments. But Toy Story it isn't.
