It's all over now - or almost. Assuming you don't have an invitation to the closing film and after party (and if you did, why would you be reading this?), then there's still time for a little last-minute mopping up.
Pick of the rest of the day is probably Nanni Moretti's We Have a Pope, which gets a second screening this afternoon. The comic tale about what happens when a duly elected Pontiff doesn't want either the funny hat or the job that goes with it, it was dismissed by some at Cannes as a one-joke movie.
But it's a lot more than that, dealing with the kind of personal-responsibility issues that Moretti - who also plays the shrink called into help the Holy Father - likes to explore. And do I detect a note of self-parody in his bumptious, arrogant psychotherapist? Probably not. But there is real greatness in Michael Piccoli's sly, shy number as the reluctant representative of Christ on earth.
Also getting repeat screenings are a couple of other films I've recommended recently - This Must Be the Place and Footnote. Apart from that, it's Terence Davis does Terence Rattigan on the red carpet. And its goodbye from me until next year. But remember: a film is not just for a Festival. They screen them all year round as well.
