Borat steps up to the 007 challenge

10 April 2012

Laser beams, sharks, crazed megalomaniacs - to date none of them have been a match for James Bond. But there is one man who may be up to the task - Kazakhstani journalist Borat Sagdiyev.

The two are going 'head to head' in a battle of the downloads. While women are choosing to download images of 007 star Daniel Craig in his swimming trunks, men prefer to have a picture of Borat on their mobile phones.

More than 150,000 images of the half-naked Bond star have been downloaded since the film's launch, according to Mobile Connections.

A spokesman added: 'Borat and Bond are going head to head to see who will be the biggest hit on mobile phones this year. And there's a clear male/female divide when it comes to who is buying what.'
