Mick Jagger visited Leicestershire to check on the progress of his new venture into the film world.

The rock legend was at the Great Central Railway's Quorn station where his company Jagged Films was shooting its first production, Enigma. He bought the film rights to Robert Harris's novel about British codebreakers in the Second World War in 1995 and hired Tom Stoppard to write the screenplay.

A spokeswoman for Jagged Films said: "Mick has taken a keen interest in filming and has visited every location. He was delighted by the way things were going and spent the whole afternoon with us."

The film, which stars Kate Winslet and Dougray Scott, is directed by Michael Apted.
