Jude Law could be set for a huge role as Captain Hook, with another adaptation of Peter Pan arriving next year.

According to Variety, Jude Law is in talks to play the infamous, clock-averse villain in Disney’s upcoming reboot.

The film is being overseen by director David Lowery, who is also writing a script with fellow Pete’s Dragon collaborators Toby Halbrooks and Jim Whitaker.

Law is the first big name connected to the project, although Alexander Molony has already been cast as Peter and Ever Anderson as Wendy.

It’s the latest reboot from the studio following Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Dumbo and the Lion King. Disney are also set to release an update on classic film Mulan later this year.

Should Law land the role, he'll follow in the footsteps of Dustin Hoffman and Jason Isaacs, who starred as the character in Steven Spielberg’s Hook and Peter Pan from 2003 respectively.

Law is currently attached to the third Fantastic Beasts movie, as well as the upcoming Sherlock Holmes 3. Both are set to be released in 2021.
