Kristen Stewart is returning back to the vampire world but with Oscar Isaac this time round.

The Twilight actress and Moon Knight actor will co-star in an upcoming feature from Panos Cosmatos, the filmmaker behind Beyond the Black Rainbow and the hallucinogenic Nicolas Cage flick Mandy. Flesh of the Gods, written by Andrew Kevin Walker, best known for being the screenwriter of the 1990s hit Se7en, is based on a screenplay by Cosmatos and is set in the glitzy 1980s in Los Angeles.

According to The Hollywood Reporter the film “follows a married couple, Raoul (Isaac) and Alex (Stewart), who descend each evening from their luxury skyscraper condo and head into an electric night-time realm of ’80s LA.

“When they cross paths with the mysterious and enigmatic woman and her hard-partying cabal, Raoul and Alex are seduced into a glamorous, surrealistic world of hedonism, thrills, and violence.”

At this year's Marché du Film at Cannes, international sales will be handled by XYZ Films, while domestic rights sales will be handled by CAA and WME.

This is Cosmatos and XYZ's third collaboration. The two parties are working on Nekrokosm with A24 in addition to Mandy.

The film is being produced by Adam McKay and Betsy Koch of Hyperobject Industries and Gena Konstantinakos and Isaac for Mad Gene Media.

The producers aim to start shooting later this year.

Producer McKay said in a statement about the film: “We think it’s wildly commercial and wildly artful. Our ambitions are to make a movie that ripples through popular culture, fashion, music and film.”

While Cosmatos added, “Both propulsive and hypnotic, Flesh will take you on a hot-rod joy ride deep into the glittering heart of hell.”

Stewart most recently acted in Rose Glass's Love Lies Bleeding, which A24 released in March. She was also nominated for an Oscar for Spencer. Winner of the Golden Globe Isaac is currently filming Guillermo Del Toro's Frankenstein. Prior credits include Moon Knight, Dune, and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
