Liam Gallagher: As It Was trailer charts legendary frontman’s music comeback

A new trailer for Liam Gallagher: As It Was has been released, following the singer’s comeback following the break-up of Oasis.

The clip from the new documentary sees the singer rediscovering his love of making music after the band’s split in 2009.

With his personal life covered extensively in the press and the singer “lost and fed up with himself”, Liam returned to performing and writing. “The only way out this mess is with music,” he says in the clip.

The trailer then focuses on the last few years of Gallagher’s career. Footage of him performing in an Irish pub going viral in 2017 lead to a resurgence, with the singer going on to release a number one album and performing at One Love Manchester.

The clip also sees the musician reflect on the peak of Oasis’s powers in the 90s, saying: “We just had a vibe, and everyone joined in on it.”

Speaking about his long-standing feud with brother Noel, Liam: “The geezer split my band up, no wonder we f****** hate each other.”

The film, directed by Charlie Lightening and Gavin Fitzgerald, looks set to offer an insight into the mind of one of rock's most charismatic characters.

Liam Gallagher: As It Was premieres on Thursday June 6 at London’s Alexandra Palace Theatre. The screening will be followed by a live performance, broadcast live into cinemas across the UK.

The film will then be fully released in UK cinemas on Friday June 7. For more information, head here.
