Mob thriller is horrible mess

Paul Walker stars in Running Scared.

This horrible mess clearly sees itself as a tough, no-holds-barred, Tarantino-style urban thriller.

Paul Walker plays a low-level flunkey for the mob whose job it is to dispense with the guns after hits. When he doesn't, he lands in serious trouble.

Wayne Kramer's film is miles too long, has a paucity of dialogue that is almost imbecilic and wastes some smart location work with massive overkill.

It may be realistic in some ways but there is none of Tarantino's wit and precious little real style. Run scared, indeed.
