Winter In Wartime is too obvious

Winter In Wartime is based on a popular Dutch teen novel
10 April 2012

Based on a popular Dutch teen novel, Martin Koolhoven's Second World War drama has a teenager in an occupied village keeping a shot-down RAF pilot out of the Nazis' way.

His sister falls for the airman (a pre-Twilight Jamie Campbell Bower) but his father the mayor worries as danger beckons.

The film's view of life under the Occupation looks accurate enough and Koolhoven deals well with his actors - but it's a little on the obvious side, not helped by an overweening musical score.
