Maybe it's because of quarantine, or maybe it's because Apex Legends is just that good. The game has certainly been growing and EA wants everyone to know about it.

The new season, Fortune's Favour, has seen the highest player retention and weekly hours played than any season before.

In addition, more new players are coming into the game and along with returning fans, with players playing for longer periods of time per day than ever before.

Season 5 brought in a brand new legend, Loba, who is by all accounts incredibly cool and, as has become the norm with Apex characters, compellingly written.

Not only that, but the new season also introduced a new map and a brand new PvE mode known as Quests, which has essentially added an overarching campaign story mode to the battle royale.

According to EA, the communtiy's connection to the wider lore and the Legends is growing stronger as well, no doubt thanks to the game being set in the stunning Titanfall universe.

Apex Legends Season 5 trailers earned more than 47M views to date, the most ever for Apex Legends season launch trailers.

Fortune’s Favor has also "sparked the Apex Legends community to create [user-generated content] that has driven more than 176M views in the first two weeks," said EA.

“Bringing more of the Apex Legends story and experience to life for our fans is the thrill of working on this game, and Season 5 is no exception,” said Chad Grenier, game director.

“This season we wiped out Skull Town, which really allowed us to have some fun and do something unexpected. We’re happy to see that players, both new and returning, are really enjoying it.”

Apex Legends is an excellent game in so many ways, with some of the best gunplay and movement in any modern shooter.

The game is also completely free, bar some cosmetic items, which is astonishing considering how polished it is.
