Fed up of getting killed as soon as you leave the Battle Bus? This new Fortnite mode might be the one for you.

Epic Games has just launched a new violence-free mode for the popular battle royale game, known as 'party royale'.

This removes two of the main components from the base Battle Royale experience, bidding farewell to all weapons of any kind and the ability to build.

The 'experimental' party royale takes place on a smaller-scale map and offers a chance for players to sit back and enjoy the environment, without the worry of getting sniped or killed.

You can play the game mode right now and there's plenty of things to do on it as well. From a built-up city-space with fast-food restaurants to other outlying areas, you'll be able to soak in your surroundings and have some fun with your friends.

The new peaceful mode has challenges to complete, too

Want to visit a beach? There's one you can travel to. As well as impressive cliffs, you can climb to get a nice view of the island.

There are also vehicle-based challenges in the game to get stuck into and other interactive spaces like football pitches, dance clubs, bouncing mats and what appears to be a theatre so you can mess around to your heart's content.

There's a lot of appealing aspects about Fortnite, but casual players probably don't get to enjoy or experience them to the fullest when you've got squads of ridiculously skilled players bearing down on you. Removing this stress, however, brings a whole new level of enjoyment to Fortnite.

It's clear that Epic is trying to make the game as accessible as possible, stretching further than just being a typical battle royale shooter

Fortnite Creative, which released in 2018, is a clear example of this which allows players to create their own mini-games and worlds within Fortnite, which can then be enjoyed with a group of your friends.

In-game events like the hugely successful Travis Scott Astronomical live performance brings the community together in force, changing the basic formula of the game to create a unifying experience over a competitive one.
