A new patch has for Minecraft has been released, bringing the current version of the game to 1.14.60

Minecraft Bedrock which is the version of the game on Windows 10, PlayStation 4, Xbox and Switch will now need to be updated in order to continue playing the game.

The new update for Bedrock is rather small and based off the patch notes, nothing huge has been added.

This patch is instead aimed at fixing minor bugs, crashes and glitches experienced within the game.

Players are still patiently waiting for the next huge update called Minecraft Nether to drop, which will bring some big changes and new additions to the game.

Currently, the developers Mojang hasn't shared any information regarding a release date for the Nether update.

On the other hand, Minecraft Java which is the original version of the game, before it had its own specific Windows version and so on has also been updated.

Minecraft Snapshot 20W16A has brought about a fair few changes, most notably it has introduced 'the home of the Piglins'.

On Mojang's official website, they say you can now find "ruins of some old portals" in the world if you explore around, along with new features which will be in the Nether update players can test out.

These are:

  • Added bastion remnants
  • Added ruined portals
  • Added chain blocks
  • Added a new music disc titled “Pigstep” by Lena Raine which can only be found in bastions

There are four types of Bastion remnants here and they appear to be full of Piglin and Hoglin enemies.

These bastions can be found inside the Nether, but beware, Piglins don't take kindly to intruders stealing their things.

You'll also found ruined portals dotted around the map in any biome or the nether, with some even being buried in the sand.

If you want to check out the Snapshot, it is available for Minecraft: Java Edition. To install the snapshot, open up the Minecraft Launcher and enable snapshots in the “Installations” tab.

Snapshots can corrupt your world, so backup and/or run them in a different folder from your main worlds.
