Kojima's PT has been lovingly remade in Half-Life: Alyx

Just the thought of playing PT in VR makes us feel uneasy
PT was going to be one extremely scary game

This Half Life: Alyx mod of PT could be the closest we'll ever get to seeing it as a proper game.

PT, a horror game which was set to be helmed by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro, was set to be one of the best psychological horror games of all-time.

It was going to be published by Konami and be set in the Silent Hill universe, however, it was tragically cancelled soon after being announced in 2014.

The original game, which was simply called PT (or, Playable Teaser) was absolutely terrifying, with stunning visuals and an overall skin-crawling experience due to the oppressive setting and presentation.

This mod, which has been made by AmbientDruth on Steam, turns Valve's VR game Half Life: Alyx into a clone of PT which looks wonderfully similar to the source material.

The mod can be found here, on AmbientDruth's Steam Workshop page

If you've got a high-end PC, nerves of steel and a VR headset, you can experience what will no doubt be an utterly horrific game.

The hallways are wider than the original and a little brighter (thankfully) and the house in which the game takes place looks a lot tidier than the original PT.

It's still a work in progress, but to essentially create a game within a game like this is extremely impressive.

PT was first teased in 2014 and it was going to be a return to the world of Silent Hill, it was hyped up by being a collaboration of Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro, and that it was going to be the scariest game ever made.

If you played the demo, you know just how scary it is.

P.T. centres on an unnamed protagonist who wakes up what seems like a basement and you head up some stairs which puts you into a cursed hallway.

This hallway continues to loop and redecorate itself, all the while you're being stalked by a supernatural creature which is literally always behind you or nearby.

Radios crackle and spurt out ominous lines about familicide and, unforgettably, tells you that something is "right behind you".

If the mod manages to continue to recreate all the little details like this, it'll go a long way in providing a space for people who might've missed the original PT on PS4 after it was taken off the storefront.
