Blur’s busy year continues with the arrival of another new track, titled Y’all Doomed.

The song is being given away as a free download – but there is a catch. To get the song, you need to buy a tub of the band’s new Magic Whip ice cream, created in conjunction with dairy specialists The Licktators.

Available in Co-Operative Food shops, the band’s ice cream is “a dairy vanilla ice cream rippled with raspberry sauce” – a fitting tie-in to the ice cream-themed artwork of their latest album.

Y’all Doomed was recorded during the group’s sessions for The Magic Whip, and was originally a Japan-exclusive track.

Blur’s return was announced towards the beginning of the new year, with The Magic Whip – their first new album in 12 years – receiving critical acclaim.

The band have toured the new album, recently playing a headline show in Hyde Park as part of the British Summer Time concert series.

In other Damon Albarn news, the singer was recently carried off stage by security at Roskilde Music Festival in Denmark after refusing to end a five hour set with his collective Africa Express.
