London-born grime veteran Dizzee Rascal is to perform his debut album in its entirety for the first time in the UK at a gig in London.
On October 21, Dizzee – real name Dylan Mills – will run through 2003’s Boy In Da Corner in full as part of the Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) tour. The show's venue has not yet been disclosed, although Dizzee is set to sit down in conversation at The Yard Theatre the day before, on October 20.
The MC-turned-pop star performed the Mercury Prize winning album live in full for the first time ever in New York as part of the RBMA sessions earlier in the year, in May, and hinted later he would do the same in London. Some of the album's tracks have seldom been performed before, despite the critical and commerical acclaim that greeted the record.
Other highlights of the RBMA include a workshop with Brummie rapper Lady Leshurr, while east London’s Jay Prince will be launching his latest mixtape at the MacBeth Pub in Shoreditch.
