Suitably doom-laden: Massive Attack

Shamir, a Las Vegas electronica man with an extraordinary voice, has now earned enough attention to be booked for some support slots with Duran Duran. To mark the occasion, he’s turned Hungry Like the Wolf into a smouldering acoustic ballad, which is on YouTube now.

Massive Attack are back working with early cohort Tricky on their latest single, Take It There. A suitably dark video for its doom-laden piano notes is now on YouTube.

Always interesting collaborators, Primal Scream have enlisted wayward pop singer Sky Ferreira for a duet on the first song from their forthcoming album, Where the Light Gets In. It’s full of twinkling synths, with a lighter touch than the band have had of late, and is on Spotify now.

The first song from PJ Harvey’s next album, The Hope Six Demolition Project, now has a video directed by war photographer Seamus Murphy. The Wheel shows a selection of images from the pair’s trip to Kosovo, which partly inspired the new project.

Canadian dance duo Junior Boys are back after five years away with a new album, Big Black Coat. Its retro electronic sounds are on sale today, while some of its highlights are also on YouTube.
