Three years since their last album, The Strokes have returned with a new EP on which their duelling guitars and Julian Casablancas’s half-asleep drawl are all present and correct. Future Present Past goes on sale today with the lead song, Oblivius, streaming at cultrecords.com.

Kevin Rowland’s current incarnation of Dexys is back with a new album of covers today, which comes with the self-explanatory title Let The Record Show: Dexys Do Irish And Country Soul. A video for their version of Joni Mitchell’s Both Sides Now is on YouTube now.

Blues-rock duo The Kills have survived early dismissals as a lightweight White Stripes and are now on their fifth album. Ash & Ice, on sale today, includes the thudding, boldly basic single, Heart of a Dog.

Between Horrors albums, Faris Badwan has made a second long-player with Rachel Zeffira as Cat’s Eyes. Treasure House, out today, mixes sweet, retro music with something much darker, as shown by the video for their song Drag and its grim scenes of domestic violence.

Belgian drum and bass producer Netsky is back with more tough beats on his imaginatively titled third album, 3. It’s on sale today, while the Jauz collaboration Higher is the latest new song to appear in YouTube.
