Rejoice, K-Pop fans: Seventeen have officially made history, and will be the first K-Pop band to play Glastonbury festival when they head to Worthy Farm this summer.

The 13-strong boyband are among the world’s most successful K-Pop groups, and their gritty, dance-influenced take on the genre incorporates plenty of EDM influence. The group ‒ S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino ‒ are split into three different units: hip-hop, vocal, and performance

They’re led by producer and songwriter Woozi (who is sometimes described as the backbone or ringleader of Seventeen) but all members have a big hand in the creative process.

The milestone moment comes after Blackpink became the first ever K-Pop band to headline a UK festival last summer, performing for 65,000 fans at London’s BST Hyde Park.

And now, the genre is headed to Worthy Farm. Though Seventeen’s exact slot timings haven’t yet been confirmed, we do know that they’ll be playing the Pyramid ‒ the festival’s biggest and most iconic stage ‒ at some point during the festival, which takes place June 26-30.

We’ll find out more about when Seventeen’s slot will be a little closer to Glastonbury itself: set timings usually come out a few weeks before the festival.

Elsewhere, Glastonbury has confirmed the first wave of acts set to play its 2024 edition. Dua Lipa, SZA, and Coldplay will headline the Pyramid, and the Canadian country star Shania Twain is lined up for the Sunday afternoon legend’s slot.

Other highlights from the line-up news include Little Simz, LCD Soundsystem, Burna Boy, PJ Harvey, The National, Jungle, Jessie Ware, and The Last Dinner Party.
