Artists and scientists will come together for a new exhibition exploring the role of anxiety in 21st century life.

The show will open at the Science Gallery next year, using research from the King’s Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience alongside new and old works from international artists.

The exhibition will explore what causes anxiety, how it increasingly affects us all, and what the future of anxiety and mental health looks like. It will also explore the role of genetics, politics and social factors in its manifestation, as well as whether it can lead to positive action.

It will open in September 2019 as part of next year’s exhibition programme, announced today. Other subjects set to come under the microscope include the future of the body in an age of technology, and the theory of Dark Matter.

The Science Gallery opened its doors to the publi c in September this year, launching with an exhibition exploring addiction. It is located in a renovated Georgian building on Guy’s Campus at Kings College London, and aims to engage young people in science, art and design through research, exhibitions and events.
