10 April 2012

Bonnie Langford is swapping her ice skates for dancing shoes with a role in West End musical Chicago

The 41-year-old will play killer Roxie Hart in the hit show.

Langford recently appeared in ITV series Dancing On Ice.

For her first pictures as Roxie, the former child star wore a lacy black dress with fishnet tights.

A West End veteran, she has starred in productions including Me And My Girl, Cats and The Pirates of Penzance.

She will appear in Chicago for a limited eight-week season from April 18, beginning at the Adelphi Theatre.

The production then moves to the Cambridge Theatre on April 28.

The role of Roxie has previously been played by Denise Van Outen, Jennifer Ellison and Brooke Shields.

Langford found fame as a child in Junior Showtime and played Violet Elizabeth Bott in the 70s adaptation of Just William. In the Eighties she appeared in Doctor Who and The Hot Shoe Show.
