Great! Because J20’s Last Laugh Search is looking for the next big star of comedy stand-up.
Kicking off this Thursday 26th February, top comedians Rhona Cameron, Jasper Carrott and Dave Spikey (Jerry St Clair in Phoenix Nights) will be visiting pubs up and down the country where wannabe comedians will compete to win a place in the final on the West End stage.
The two London heats take place on 3 March (Bar Risa, Battersea) and 23 March (White Horse, Hampstead). If you win over a panel of judges and a comedy-loving audience, you could sail through to the regional final at Camden Jongleurs on 8 April and from then it’s one short hop, skip and an observational comedy gag to the grand final at a West End Theatre.
And what do you get for putting yourself up there? The ultimate winner’s prize is a chance to perform on The New York Comedy Strip, a contract to perform at Jongleur’s clubs, £1000 in cash and a year long membership to Jongleurs: plus there are more cash prizes and Jongleur’s tickets for winners of the pub and regional rounds.
