From high seas to The Bush for Mackenzie Crook

Mackenzie Crook
10 April 2012

Mackenzie Crook was seen by millions in The Office and Pirates of the Caribbean but will be performing in front of a much smaller audience in his next role.

The 38-year-old star, pictured, whose stage credits include The Seagull and Jerusalem at the Royal Court, will appear at The Bush in the British premiere of The Aliens by acclaimed new American playwright Annie Baker. He will be joined by Rafe Little, from Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps and The Royle Family, for the play about two dropouts and best friends who draw a teenager into their world of magic mushrooms and music.

The teenager will be played by Olly Alexander, in a short break from a burgeoning film career including Gaspar Noé's Enter The Void. He won his acting big break two years ago aged 17 in the children's TV series Summerhill.

The production will run in London from 15 September until 16 October.
