You might remember luscious actress and character comic Lizzie Roper spending chunks of 2004 and 2006 locking lips with Christian Slater in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.
For this one-woman 'documentary' comedy, Roper has adopted the style of verbatim theatre. In this show performers recite the recorded speech they're listening to via earphones - to recount a series of snippets from supposedly real-life interviews she's conducted with a variety of misfits talking candidly about their sex lives.
It's a wise decision - in ditching any notion of script and letting her subjects' words flow freely, Roper's show feels authentic and compellingly unpredictable.
Their experiences and personalities vary wildly: one, for instance, is an elderly 'Jungian analyst' whose chat meanders off into her run-ins with TV show Crimestoppers.
Another is a dominatrix who talks about fetishism in as matter-of-fact a manner as she'd make a cup of tea.
Others are exhibitionists, some are uncomfortable talking about sexual intimacy but, as time passes, all unintentionally reveal their own skewed logic on the subject.
Their personalities segue through Roper in a performance that resembles some sort of reverse ventriloquism as she skilfully issues every line, pause, intonation, mannerism and tic to mark each character out crisply and cleanly. It makes a fascinating and all-consuming show.
