There can be miracles when you believe – the Prince of Egypt is coming to the West End.

A new stage musical adaptation of the DreamWorks animation will open at the Dominion Theatre in February 2020 for a limited 32-week run.

Based on the Old Testament story of Moses learning about his true heritage and leading the Hebrew slaves out of Egypt, the musical opens on February 25.

It will feature five of the original songs, including the Academy Award-winning When You Believe, made famous by Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston.

Stephen Schwartz, who wrote the music and lyrics for the film, provides 10 new songs for the production. Schwartz also penned the songs for hit musical Wicked, and Disney films Pocahontas and the Hunchback of Notre Dame.

He reunites with book writer Philip LaZebnik, who co-wrote the Pocahontas screenplay.

The Prince of Egypt made its debut at TheatreWorks in Silicon Valley in 2017

Casting and full creative team are yet to be announced.

Tickets will go on sale at 10am on Monday June 3, ThePrinceOfEgyptMusical.com
