Neil Jones and Alex Scott suffered a wardrobe malfunction during their Argentine Tango on Strictly Come Dancing.

The dancing pro, 37, and the pundit, 35, danced to Never Tear Us Apart by Bishop Briggs during Saturday night’s show.

The duo delivered a fierce performance which led to judge Bruno Tonioli dubbing Alex a “scorching, hot, scarlet temptress”.

But when they finished, they paused on the moment as Neil looked down at Alex's dress before carrying her to the judges’ table.

Co host of the show, Tess Daly, then said: “Oh! You’re stuck together. Ok we have a microphone malfunction,” before attempting to unhook them.

Eventually she managed to unhook them, exclaiming “You’re free! These things happen, it’s live television,” as Alex and Neil laughed.

The judges then gave the duo mixed reviews to their performance, with Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse having opposing opinions on what they wanted from the dance.

Craig said: “I thought it was very heavy and flat footed…you need to use your feet a lot more on this dance.

“With the Gancho [step], I thought you looked like you were churning butter, rather than reacting.

“This dance is all about the man reacting to the man’s lead…every time you do a kick, it has to be loose and also has to be a reaction to what he’s doing to you. You were too tense downstairs, you need to be very loose.”

Motsi then challenged him, and said: “I think you need be tight downstairs, the body centre, I’m talking about.”

Bruno then pointed out the opposing views and sighed dramatically, saying: “Make up your mind you two.”

The pair were then awarded 28 points from the judges, making them second to last on the leader board.

The Strictly Come Dancing results show will air on Sunday at 7.15pm on BBC One.
