A contestant on America’s Got Talent accidentally shot her fiancee in the neck with a flaming arrow after a stunt went horribly wrong.

Ryan Stock and AmberLynn Walker were performing a death defying stunt live on air when Walker missed her target.

Stock placed a target in his mouth – and down his throat – and Walker attempted to shoot the bulls eye, but she missed and hit his neck with a flaming arrow.

Stock beat the fire away from his shirt and pulled the target from his mouth as he held his neck.

The audience fell silent and judges Simon Cowell, Mel B, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel recoiled in horror.

Host Nick Cannon asked if Stock was unharmed before telling the audience: “He’s OK!”

Clearly shocked Mandel said: “No, no, no you’re not OK. I think what you do is wonderfully horrific but you are in pain and after we finish judging I’m guessing you’re going to an EMT.

“We have to be responsible, you are hurt. I think you deserve votes but I hate that I just saw what can happen.”

Viewers tweeted their shock as well as Mel B who posted: “Wtf that just happened @nbcagt.”

Klum tweeted: “OMG. I'm glad he's okay! That was scary. #AGT.”

Stock reassured viewers that he was unharmed and tweeted: “We had a serious mishap tonight outage live on @nbcagt. A very unfortunate mechanical failure but I am very fortunate to walk away from it.”

Cowell is a fan of the daredevils and told Billboard: "I think they like all that stuff in Vegas. It's like watching a horror movie.

"You kind of don't like it, but you do like it and you want to see more of it."
