The People vs OJ Simpson is about to draw to a dramatic conclusion after keeping us hooked for the last nine weeks.

The show has proved a gripping watch, offering a meticulous blow-by-blow account of the ‘Trial of the Century’ which saw the American Football star accused of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Lyle Goldman.

The series is the first under the banner American Crime Story, a spin-off of the hit American Horror Story show – and like its parent series, Season 2 will move on to an entirely new story.

The next series of American Crime Story will continue the theme of significant US cultural moments, but is set to focus on a very different sort of crime – the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

“I want this show to be a socially conscious, socially aware examination of different types of crime around the world,” said executive producer Ryan Murphy to The Hollywood Reporter.

“And in my opinion, Katrina was a f****** crime — a crime against a lot of people who didn’t have a strong voice and we’re going to treat it as a crime. That’s what this show is all about.”

The second season is expected to follow a set of characters who experience various sides of the tragic events.

Season 2 is still in the early stages of production, and it is currently unknown whether the cast of The People vs OJ Simpson will follow across to the next story, as with American Horror Story.
