Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway 2016: Geordie duo prank James Corden at the Late Late Show in LA

Just because the Gavin & Stacey star is a big hit in the States doesn’t mean he’s out of reach

If you want the definition of a perfect Saturday night TV show, just ask Ant and Dec.

The cheeky Geordie duo are masters at the art form, with their hit ITV series Saturday Night Takeaway making for ridiculously easy watching right in the middle of the weekend.

Returning for seven episodes, the show feels like a spiritual successor to Nineties classics such as Noel’s House Party and the Generation Game with its comedy segments, gameshow elements, and colourful style.

The fact that the show is live offers up hilariously unpredictable moments, while the pre-recorded sections are always brilliantly thought-out – just take a look at the prank they play on James Corden.

The British actor and comedian has made it big in the States as the host of the Late Late Show on CBS, rubbing shoulders with Justin Bieber, Stevie Wonder and One Direction.

That hasn’t placed him out of Ant and Dec’s reach though – the pesky pair headed across to LA to cause havoc on the late-night chat show.
