Ant McPartlin ‘will appear in Britain’s Got Talent prerecorded scenes’

Appearing on BGT: Ant McPartlin will not be cut from the talent show's audition stage prerecords

Ant McPartlin will reportedly appear in prerecorded Britain’s Got Talent audition scenes alongside presenting partner Declan Donnelly.

However, McPartlin is said to have been ruled out of appearing in the live episodes of the show later this year, following his decision to return to rehab after a drink-driving collision.

A source told the Sun "All the footage that was created during the audition stages will air when the series starts again."

The publication reported on Tuesday that Donnelly will present the live shows on his own, after his successful solo stint on Saturday Night Takeaway last week.

“After last weekend the feeling is very much that Dec should take on BGT alone too – he did a brilliant job,” an insider revealed.

"The bosses at ITV loved him and want him back on screens as soon as possible, and Simon Cowell totally agrees that he's the best man for the job rather than bringing in a new face."

Donnelly and McPartlin usually present the ITV talent show as a pair, but McPartlin’s arrest and return to rehab has forced Donnelly to go it alone.

This weekend will see the presenter round off the current series of Saturday Night Takeaway in Orlando, Florida.

Britain’s Got Talent returns to ITV on April 14.
