Bros' Luke Goss has said that he is “blown away” to have been nominated for three BAFTA TV and Craft awards – and fans are here for it.

The singer couldn’t contain his joy as he tweeted about the trio of nods documentary Bros: After The Screaming Stops received on Thursday morning for Specialist Factual, directing and editing.

Luke tweeted: “What an amazing day...just got a call. @BAFTA just announced our film received 3 nominations! Blown away! #BAFTA have made our night!”

He added that he was “sincerely honoured” before congratulating his brother, and bandmate, Matt as well as the team behind the show.

Fans were equally chuffed to have the When Will I Be Famous? stars nominated, joking that they will “riot” if they aren’t crowned winners in May.

Luke shared a tweet from writer Edgar Wright, reading: “If @mattgoss & @LukeGoss don’t get BAFTA gold, we pelt the stage with conkers.”

Another read: “Bafta for bros or we riot.”

“Great news! So pleased you and @LukeGoss are finally getting the recognition you deserve - such a long time coming!” tweeted a third.

The documentary, which originally aired on BBC Four, became an unlikely iPlayer hit as fans flocked to watch the brothers reunite for two 30th anniversary gigs. It was so popular that After The Screaming Stops was granted a second airing on BBC Two.

The nominations come less than 24 hours after they won a National Film Award for Best Documentary, a week after scooping Moment of the Year at the BBC Radio and Music Awards.

After The Screaming Stops will go up against Grayson Perry’s Rites of Passage, Superkids: Breaking Away From Care and Suffragettes with Lucy Worsley for the Specialist Factual award.
