Bear Grylls has said he thinks Donald Trump could be a good survivor in the wild, but is unsure whether the president’s hair “would cope”.

The TV adventurer previously featured President Barack Obama on his survival skills programme Running Wild in 2015, and revealed he would consider doing the same with Mr Trump.

Grylls told ITV’s Good Morning Britain that he believes Mr Trump “is a survivor”.

He said: “It’s funny, we actually had the same executive producer on NBC when he was doing The Apprentice and we were doing Running Wild over there, so when he was running for president we’d just finished the Obama one, and we went ‘let’s do it.’

“But I’m not sure his hair would cope.”

He continued: “I actually kind of admire his resilience, and his dogged determination and tenacity. Whatever you think of his politics, he definitely has that.

“And actually as a survivor in the wild, that is an important quality.”

Trump’s hair was back in the spotlight earlier this week after a gust of wind uncovered what appeared to be large bald patch when the president was boarding a flight.

The clip fuelled ongoing speculation over the nature of Trump’s hair.

Good Morning Britain continues weekdays at 6am on ITV.
