Big Brother 2017 cast: who are Chanelle McLeary, Ex on the Beach star Kayleigh Morris and the rest of the housemates?

From the owner of a private detective agency to several former stars of Ex on the Beach, meet the 16 new Big Brother faces
New series: Big Brother kicked off last night
Channel 5

Big Brother welcomed a fresh crop of contestants into the house on Monday night. Despite some controversy over there being rather more reality TV stars in the line-up than you’d expect for the civilian series, there are some genuine average Joes to balance out the inevitable celeb scandals.

One housemate was even handpicked by the public to enter the house and given special privileges that could stir up tension in the next few weeks.

Here’s everything you need to know about the new housemates:

Chanelle McLeary

(Channel 5)

A former Ex on the Beach star, 24-year-old Chanelle from Manchester has been linked to several celebs. She dated X Factor winner James Arthur and claims that Calum Best texts her constantly, despite him being in a couple with US model Lindsey Pelas. She shocked Big Brother presenter Emma Willis with a risqué gown and X-rated comment during her entrance to her house.

Kieran Lee

Channel 5

Kieran is a 25-year-old CCTV installer from Lancashire, who works as a ‘honey trapper’ for fellow house mate Rebecca Jane’s private detective agency, which means he traps cheating partners by flirting with them to test their dedication. He’s another former Ex on the Beach contestant and says he’s looking forward to being locked in the house with nowhere to go.

Ellie Young

Channel 5

Proud Yorkshire lass Ellie works on the counter at a trampoline park and has appeared as a rep on Ibiza Weekender. The 23-year-old loves nothing more than “making a fool out of myself and laughing about it” so she should certainly liven up the house.

Charlotte Keys

Channel 5

Estate agent Charlotte is heading into the Big Brother house with her mum Mandy. The pair are so close they were once even chatted up by the same man. The 24-year-old is described as an “ice queen” by her friends, so could rub the other contestants the wrong way.

Mandy Longworth

Channel 5

Mandy is an antiques dealer who’s heading into the house with her daughter Charlotte. The 51-year-old reckons she has a better sex life than Charlotte and says “she’s single and ready to mingle” in the house. Could romance be on the cards?

Arthur Fulford

Channel 5

Self-confessed posh boy Arthur works as a courier but given that he’s heir to his family’s 3,000 acre estate, it’s probably more of a hobby. He made his first reality TV appearance at the tender age of 12 when his family were profiled in a documentary called The F**king Fulfords. 10 years on, the family starred in another show Life is Toff. The 24-year-old says he’s looking forward to an “exciting experience” in the house.

Rebecca Jane

Channel 5

Rebecca owns her very own detective agency, and one of the services she provides is honey trapping where she ensnares cheating partners by using attractive people as bait. The 32-year old is a successful businesswoman and earned her first million by 21. She says she’s looking forward to having a digital detox while in the Big Brother house as her “technology addiction is out of control”.

Raphael Korine

Channel 5

Big Brother super fan Raphael is a psychology student and says he sees the show “as the ultimate psychology test”, so chances are he’ll be using his skills to stir things up among the other housemates. The Frenchman speaks five languages including Japanese, French, English and German, is single and claims to have cheated on every partner he’s ever had. Scandalous.

Joe Quaranta

Channel 5

Night club owner Joe is the oldest housemate at 55. His reality TV resume is a little out of date – he appeared in Nineties series Tenerife Uncovered and starred in Noughties series Tenerife’s Eastenders: King of Clubs. The mogul has a girlfriend who’s 26 years his junior and says he hopes his appearance on Big Brother will prove "the oldies can do well too.”

Lotan Carter

PA

Single Essex lad Lotan is a member of dance group Dreamboys – and is Luisa Zissman’s ex. The 28-year-old Pineapple Dance Studios star said, despite admitting that he’s “never not had attention from women”, he’s not at all arrogant, but in fact “cheeky and charming”.

Kayleigh Morris

PA

This 28-year-old clothing concession manager from Wales wants to “prove that she’s successful and isn’t a bimbo”. She’s no stranger to reality TV having starred on Ex on the Beach with her ex, MTV bad boy Ashley Cain, and has warned viewers that she struggles to hold in her emotions.

Imran Javeed

PA

Leeds-based entrepreneur Imran is married to fellow housemate Sukhvinder – who he met at school, aged 8. He is “self-made from the ghetto” and wants to show the UK what a modern Muslim looks like.

Sukhvinder Javeed

PA

Sukhvinder, 38, has joined the show to represent “the black sheep of the communities”. An entrepreneur, like her husband, she believes her bluntness is her best personality trait and patience her worst, because she doesn’t have any.

Deborah Agboola

PA

This 25-year-old single mum prides herself on being a strong-willed woman who isn’t afraid to speak her mind and won’t be disrespected by anyone. Pick on her sister Hannah and feel her wrath.

Hannah Agboola

PA

Twenty-three year old Hannah is the current reigning Miss Nigeria UK who believes she was “born to be the centre of attention”. Tasks shouldn’t be a problem for the make-up store host as she “doesn't shy away or back down from a challenge”.

People’s Choice housemate - Tom Barber

Channel 5

Welshman Tom was chosen by the public out of four would-be contestants to join the Big Brother house. As the People’s Choice housemate, the 21-year-old will have special privileges and access to the outside world. He’ll have plenty in common with fellow contestant Joe, as Tom also owns a nightclub that was given to him by his granddad.

Big Brother airs at 10pm on Channel 5 tonight.
