Big Brother task sees housemates endure electric shocks during dinner

Big Brother is known for its shocking storylines, but they usually revolve around drama, game-playing and nominations.

This time the shocks were rather more literal as the contestants were tasked with sitting through a meal while being dealt jolts of electricity.

In scenes to air in Wednesday’s episode, a shopping challenge saw Tom, Charlotte, Deborah, Hannah, Andrew, Isabelle and Sam treated to a three-course dinner. But, as you might expect from Big Brother, there was a catch.

In order to win the task, the housemates had to wear shock-pads for the duration of the meal, remain seated throughout and clear their plates no matter how much pain they were in.

The contestants initially seemed up for the challenge but soon struggled to keep it together, with Tom spilling squash all over the table, Deborah dribbling spaghetti down her chin and plenty of swearing from all involved.

Elsewhere in Wednesday night’s episode Raph rejected second-chance housemate Andrew’s advances as the Scotsman tried to kiss and cuddle him.

With Raph trapped in a tight embrace he was forced to wiggle his way out of Andrew’s clutches, shouting “Stop! Stop!”

After a chat about personal space, the pair come to an understanding and Andrew explains he finds it difficult not to show his feelings for Raph, saying: “It’s hard not to express how you feel” and later adding "you're different, I do like different, I've always liked different".

Big Brother continues tonight at 10pm on Channel 5.
