Diversity star Jordan Banjo will not return to Dancing On Ice as backstage correspondent in a massive show shake-up.

Banjo interviewed contestants backstage in a special training rink when the popular skating show returned to screens earlier this year while his brother Ashley acted as a judge.

However, due to “scheduling commitments”, Banjo has left the show with it unclear if he will be replaced or whether the segment will be scrapped.

A spokesperson for ITV confirmed to Standard Online: “Jordan isn't able to return due to scheduling conflicts, and the whole team at Dancing on Ice wishes him well.

“We will be confirming our professionals line up in due course.”

New reports claim that several professionals have been cut from the cast, including finalist Ale Izquierdo, and will be replaced by new faces.

A source told The Sun: “There will be a lot of new faces on the ice, too.

“Ale Izquierdo, who skated with Max Evans in this year’s show, won't return, neither will Melody Le Moal, who was partnered with Lemar.”

The rebooted ITV show, which returned to screens this year after four years away, recently confirmed its 12-strong line-up for next year.

Names include The Only Way is Essex star Gemma Collins, The X Factor favourite Saara Aalto, Strictly Come Dancing star James Jordan and Love Island’s Wes Nelson.

Dancing On Ice will return to ITV in January 2019.
