Piers Morgan has slated the Beckhams, branding Victoria a “sourpuss” and chastising David for chewing gum at the Royal Wedding.
The famous couple were among the celebrity attendees invited to watch the Duke and Duchess of Sussex tie the knot at Windsor Castle on Saturday.
Morgan criticised the sportsman’s behaviour, saying he should not have been chewing gum while sat alongside notable names in church.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain he said: “What’s the one thing you don’t do in church? He goes into church and sits down next to Nicholas Soames.
“The pillar of the establishment. A man related to Winston Churchill and what does old Golden Balls do? He chews gum.”
He then mocked David’s accent as he pretended to chew, saying: “What time’s it starting then love?”
Morgan argued the behaviour was so out of order that he should be denied a knighthood. He said: “If anything should stop him getting a knighthood that to me is the tipping point.”
Susanna Reid asked: “Why? It’s a modern marriage. You should be allowed to chew gum in church.”
Morgan replied: “No. Standards are important in life.”
He also attacked Victoria for failing to break her “scowl” as she arrived at St George’s Chapel.

“Watching old sourpuss – you’re at the sunniest happiest wedding in the world and you turn up looking like that,” he said. “She thinks she’s the new Audrey Hepburn, no you’re not you’re Audrey from the Rovers Return.”
Victoria was mocked by viewers who questioned why she couldn’t crack a smile, with one joking she was ‘grieving Meghan Markle’s single life’ while another sarcastically tweeted: “Someone needs to calm Victoria Beckham down, she’s completely over excited...”
Caitlin Moran joked: “Victoria Beckham’s scowl is the ‘Pippa’s bum’ of this wedding.”
