Actress Emilia Clarke has recalled the time Hollywood star Brad Pitt bid for her in an auction, describing it as the “best night of her life”.

The Game of Thrones star revealed that she took part in a charity auction and was shocked to see Pitt with his paddle in the air.

She told The Graham Norton Show: “There was an auction for a charity do that I was asked to take part in so I offered time with myself.

“As the bidding started I realised Brad Pitt was trying to buy me. I looked across the room and he had his paddle up.”

Clarke added: “Sadly, he was outbid and it didn’t work out.”

According to reports at the time, the Fight Club actor started his bid at $90,000 (£66,800) before upping it to $120,000 (£89,000) when Clarke’s co-star Kit Harington joined the deal.

However, somebody else reportedly offered $160,000 (£118,600) and won the auction.

Clarke was joined on the popular BBC chat show by Solo: A Star Wars Story co-star Phoebe Waller-Bridge, singer Gloria Estefan and former Doctor Who lead David Tennant.

Estefan joked about not bagging an invite to the Royal wedding, quipping: “What would I have sung? Stay Away From You?”.

The Graham Norton Show airs Friday 18 May at 10.35pm on BBC One.
