Holly Willoughby reveals how she spends her afternoons after This Morning

Carr appeared to have his eye on a This Morning presenting slot

Holly Willoughby has suggested that her This Morning filming schedule leaves her free to spend the afternoons “drinking wine”.

The presenter joked that her working hours on the ITV show gave her plenty of time to unwind with a glass of wine as guest Jimmy Carr claimed that she and co-host Phillip Schofield have “the best job in the world.”

“I think this is maybe the best job in the world,” the comedian told the presenting partners.

“You’re on telly and you’re finished by one.”

Willoughby couldn’t argue with his claim, answering him with: “That is true.”

Carr then joked “You’re at home drinking wine by 2.30,” prompting the 38-year-old presenter to grin as she admitted: “That is also true!”

Schofield then introduced a clip from Carr’s 2015 appearance on the show, in which he had also waxed lyrical about the “dream” presenting gig.

“They say, ‘What’s your dream job?’ and I think it’s doing this, isn’t it?” Carr said in the archive footage. “You meet everyone, you’re finished [early].”

Later in the show, the hosts decided to put their guest “to the test” as a prospective member of the This Morning team, asking him to present a short segment to viewers.

The tables were turned as Willoughby slipped up when introducing Carr to viewers, announcing Schofield’s name instead of the comedian’s.

Bursting into laughter as she realised her mistake, she said: “I’ve actually just introduced him as you. I think I might have replaced you instantly.”

Schofield jokingly held his head in his hands in horror as he asked his colleague: “Do I mean so little to you?”

He then asked if it was time for him to “go” as Carr joked that the show could now be known as “Jimmy Carr’s This Morning.”

This Morning airs on ITV, weekdays at 10.30am
